Central Texas Science Team
Mission:
Empowering high school students to conduct real world original research
2025 trip
Costa Rica Summer Field Research (High School only)
Our 2025 trip is set for June 21-30. Students will spend 9 days doing field research in the rainforest and on the coast, specifically with leaf cutter ants and their antibiotic potential.
Change Makers and Community Builders
In our immersion field research program, students are creating original science research on real world problems, while improving the sustainability of a small remote Costa Rican rainforest village.
Very few summer research opportunities for high school students are original research. Our Rainforest Summer Research Program is original research and that makes it even more valuable on the student's transcript.
Tropical Field Research
Link Student Research to Critical Issues Facing Our Global Community
Students are immersed in a hands-on field research program that takes advantage of the immense biodiversity of the tropical rainforest. They learn how to apply the scientific method while collaborating with team members to establish their original research question as well as the experimental design for their project. They use statistics to validate the results of their experiments and present their results to their peers and scientists .
